Este opulento estilo propio de los palacios franceses e italianos del siglo XVIII llaman este año a nuestras puertas para que les hagamos un buen hueco en casa. Es el momento de sacar la artillería pesada y pedir prestada (o usar la nuestra en caso de tenerla) la vajilla de la abuela y esos cubiertos antiguos que nunca usamos. En caso no disponer de este menaje, seguro que encontramos algunas propuestas en las tiendas de hogar que imitan muy bien este clasicismo lujoso. Pon la mesa ¡para los príncipes y reyes de tu casa! Candelabros, velas doradas y blancas, copas de cristal, cubiertos dorados envejecidos (muy de moda ahora), platos y bajo platos elegantes de porcelana y por supuesto mucho color oro, signo de la riqueza y el poder…

In case you do not have this tableware, we are sure to find some in the home shops that imitate this luxurious classicism very well. Set the table for the Kings and Queens of your household! Candlesticks, golden finished with white candles, embossed crystal glasses, golden aged or antique cutlery (very fashionable now), dishes, elegant porcelain plates and of course a lot of gold, sign of wealth and power.

Si por el contrario las mesas tan refinadas no son de tus favoritas tal vez prefieras este estilo menos manido en Navidad pero que resulta muy alegre y estiloso si sabes elegir bien las piezas claves. Aquí la idea es sacar a relucir todos los tejidos y recuerdos de tus viajes y crear un ambiente multicultural donde se abracen diferentes partes del mundo en una sola mesa. La artesanía juega un papel muy importante en este estilo y habrá que elegir manteles tejidos a mano, tapetes manufacturados, u objetos que nos transporten a otros lugares. Si la base de toda esta deco es de color neutro, el resultado será ¡sorprendente y distinto a todo lo que normalmente estamos acostumbrados los días de fiesta!

If the base of all this deco is of a neutral color, the result will be surprising and different from everything we are normally used to on holidays!

La clave del éxito: salir de la rutina y usar complementos como plumas de pavo real, centros florales exóticos y diferentes, incorporar las plantas crasas, o directamente crear diferentes centros florales generosos de diferentes alturas con muchas flores de los tonos que prefieras pero que vayan a juego con el resto de la deco. Ah! Y por supuesto, este año ¡mucho dorado!

The key to success: get out of the routine and use accessories such as peacock feathers, exotic and different floral centers, incorporate succulent plants, or directly create different generous floral centerpieces of different heights with many flowers using tones that you prefer but that match the rest of the Christmas deco. Ah! And of course, don’t forget … at lots of gold!
