Flores por todas partes / Flowers everywhere

Este post se lo dedicaremos a Arantxa, nuestra florista de Moments. Es una apasionada de las flores y plantas. Cada día aprendemos mucho de ella. Se encarga de decorar todas las bodas y eventos junto a Magali y Cristina del Departamento de decoración.

Las plantas tienen un papel fundamental en la tierra. Los animales y personas no podríamos vivir sin ellas, ya que son las responsables del oxigeno y sin oxigeno no podemos respirar ni alimentarnos.

Hoy hablaremos más concretamente sobre la influencia de flores y plantas en diferentes disciplinas; como se van integrando en la arquitectura, en nuestro vestuario, como decoración e incluso en la gastronomía.

This post is dedicated to Arantxa, our florist at Moments. She is impassioned with flowers and plants. Everyday we learn more from her. She is in charge of decorating all of our weddings and events together with Magali and Cristina from the decoration department.

Plants have a fundamental role on earth. Animals and people would not be able to live without them. They are responsable for oxigen and without oxigen we would not be able to breathe nor feed ourselves.

Today we will talk in detail about the influence of flowers and plants on different disciplines; how they integrate with architecture, on our clothing in decorations and even in gastronomy.

JARDINES VERTICALES

Los jardines verticales, muros verdes o paredes de cultivo están formados por una amplia gama de plantas y flores (normalmente autóctonas) y se utilizan para la decoración de muros tanto en interior como en exterior de las edificaciones.

Aislante térmico y acústico natural, mejoran la calidad del aire porque producen oxigeno y decoran, estos son solo algunos de sus muchos beneficios.

Si llevas tiempo pensando en instalar uno, tendrás que tener en cuenta el clima de tu zona, la ubicación (si le da el sol, lluvia, viento…) como lo vas a regar y a donde va a caer el agua. Los jardines de exterior son más fáciles de mantener ya que disfrutan de más horas de luz y riego natural cuando llueve.

Aunque todavía es difícil verlos a nivel de calle, hemos conseguido unos ejemplos que os van a encantar.

En esta ocasión ZARA HOME ha querido sorprendernos con el diseño de Thierry Boutemy para Semana del Diseño de Milán. Si querían algo original y sorprendente ¡enhorabuena! Lo habéis conseguido. La decoración floral de los salientes de la fachada es espectacular y los tonos primaverales muy adecuados para la ocasión.

VERTICAL GARDENS

Vertical gardens , Green murals or cultivated walls are formed by a wide range of plants and flowers (normally auctonomous) and are used for the decoration of murals both inside or outside of buildings.

A natural thermal and acoustic isolation they improve the quality of air because they produce oxigen and decorate. These are just some of their many benefits. If you have been thinking of installing one, you need to bare in mind the climate of the zone, the placement (if it gets sun, rain, wind) how you are going to wáter it and where the wáter will fall. Outside gardens are easier to care for as they have more hours of light and are watered naturally when it rains.

Although it is still difficult to see them at street level, we have aquired some examples that will delight you.

On this occasion, ZARA HOME wanted to surprise us with a design by Thierry Boutemy for Design Week in Milan. If you want something original and surprising, congratulations . You have it! The floral decoration of the projections on the façade is spectacular and the spring time tones are very appropriate for the occasion.

Pero unos años antes la capital del País Vasco se adelantaba a la iniciativa green. Vitoria-Gasteiz es reconocida internacionalmente como Capital Verde Europea por sus grandes progresos medioambientales como es la protección de la biodiversidad y la integración de espacios verdes en el tejido urbano con su famoso Anillo Verde.

A few years before the capital of the Basque country advanced the Green iniciative. Vitoria-Gasteiz is recognised internationally as the Green Capital of Europe for its great environmental progress in protecting the biodiversity and the integration of Green spaces in urban planning with its famous Green Ring.

¿Cómo surgió? Dentro de este Anillo Verde, los estudios de arquitectura Urbanarbolismo y Unusualgreen junto a Urbaser y Zikotz idearon este jardín vertical con más de 33.000 plantas de diversas variedades autóctonas de la zona de Álava y el País Vasco, para reducir el consumo energético del Palacio de Congresos Europa y además de alegrar a los viandantes con la belleza de los ecosistemas de la región en pleno centro de la ciudad. Y por último, el conocidísimo edificio de Caixa Forum de Madrid.

How did it happen? The Caixa Forum Madrid is a cultural centre, inaugurated in 2008. principaly dedicated to temporary exhibitions,. It is integrated in the Triangle of Art, in the Paseo del Prado of Madrid. It is the property of “La Caixa”, which runs the museum through it foundation. FLORES EN LA MODA

Las flores siempre han estado presentes en el mundo de la moda, son una inspiración para muchos diseñadores que obligan a reinventarse cada temporada. Las flores son en muchos casos la representación de la mujer por la delicadeza y belleza que estas representan.

El estilo floral y los estampados nacieron del estilo hippie. Este movimiento era conocido por el uso de flores en la cabeza y vestidos, incluso se invento el termino flower-power.

La alta costura es otro campo que a menudo presenta colecciones casi en su totalidad con flores, como Dior y Valentino. A continuación unos ejemplos de cómo han pasado de estampados a utilizar flores reales y relieves.

FLOWERS IN FASHION

Flowers have always been present in the world of fashion. They are the inspiration for many designers who have to re-invent new looks every season. In many cases, Flowers represent the delicacy and beauty of a woman. Flower style and prints were born from hippy styles. This movement was known by the use of flowers in the hair and on dresses, and included the invention of the term “flower power”.

Para el lanzamiento de la primera colección en Paris del diseñador belga Raf Simons para Dior, la marca definió el evento más como un manifiesto que un fashion show, que revela la feminidad como una actitud. For the introduction of the first collection by the belguin designer Raf Simons for Dior, the company defined the event as a manifestó that revealed femininity as an atitude, more than as a fashion show. Incluso el arte también inspira a D&G para sus colecciones florales: Moda y arte han caminado muchas veces de la mano y en los dos últimos años cada vez vemos más ejemplos de ello. Los diseñadores buscan rendir homenaje a sus artistas favoritos, como Vincent van Gogh o Gustav Klimt, dos pintores que han inspirado varias colecciones con sus inconfundibles colores y texturas.

Flores en un jarrón azul’ (1887) de Vincent van Gogh en el desfile de Primavera/Verano 2014 Alta Moda de Dolce & Gabanna. De nuevo los diseñadores italianos buscan su inspiración en el arte, recreando con maestría esta bella obra del pintor. Su intención con este desfile de vestidos de ensueño, según sus propias palabras, era transformar a las mujeres en obras de arte vivientes.

Art also inspired D&G for their flowered collection :Fashion and arte have often walked hand and hand in the last two years and each season we see more examples of this. Designer seek to give homage to their favourite artists, like Vinsent Van Gogh or Gustav Klint, two painters who inspired various collections with their unique colors and textures.

‘Flowers in a blue vase’ (1887) by Vincent van Gogh influenced the Spring/Summer high- fashion parade of Dolce and Gabanna. Once again italian designers search for inspiration in art, masterly recreating this paintors beautiful work. FLORES EN LA GASTRONOMIA

Si hay un sector que siempre lleva la delantera ese es el gastronómico. Siempre con sus platos llamativos, minimalistas y reinventando continuamente la profesión con probetas y experimentos químicos. Aquí algunos ejemplos de flores en nuestros alimentos favoritos.

Estos pasteles pertenecen a nuestras novias más atrevidas. Los Naked Cakes se están poniendo de moda. Son pasteles sin recubrir y con decoración de frutas o flores entre pisos.

If there is one sector that always is in front it is gastronomy. Its plates are attractive and minimalist and they are continually reinventing the profession with trials and chemical experiments. Here are some examples of flowers in our favourite foods.

FLOWER LETTERS O LETRAS CON FLORES

Las flower letters es una iniciativa DIY que se ha puesto de moda en redes sociales hace ya varios meses. Consiste en rellenar tipografías de flores o plantas. Tiene mucho éxito en Pinterest y además aparecen muchos tutoriales de cómo hacerlas. Son ideales para eventos, celebraciones o para adornar el cuarto de los niños poniendo su nombre encima de la cama o en la puerta de su habitación. Os animamos a que probéis y nos mandéis una foto. Nosotras las publicaremos. Seguro que os quedan muy bonitas.

FLOWER LETTERS OR LETTERS WITH FLOWERS

Flower letters is an initiative DIY that has become fashionable in the last months on social networks. It consists of filling in typologies of flowers and plants. It has had big success in Pinterest and many tutorials on how to do make them have also appeared. They are ideal for events, celebrations or for decorating children’s romos putting their names on their beds or on the door of their romos. We like to anímate you to try this and send us photos. Otro ejemplo de plantas en tipografía lo hemos encontrado en la, anteriormente mencionada, Vitoria-Gasteiz. Una vez recogido el galardón colocaron estas gigantescas letras con el nombre de la cuidad en las que todos los turista se hacen la típica foto.

FLORES EN REGALOS

En todas las bodas los novios tienen un detalle con sus invitados. Estos obsequios cada vez se miman más y se entregan en pequeños paquetitos minuciosamente decorados. Antes la flores utilizadas eran artificiales, de plástico o papel pero actualmente se colocan flores o ramitas naturales.

FLOWERS AND GIFTS

At all the weddings the couple has a detail for their guests. These gifts are more carefully chosen and wrapped in small packages meticulously decorated. Previously the flowers used were artificial of plastic or paper but nowadays they use flowers or small natural bouquets.

FLORES EN LAS BODAS

Es uno de los pilares más importantes en una boda. Las flores forman parte de la decoración y pueden cambiar un ambiente totalmente. Desde el reamo de la novia y damas de honor, hasta el photocall y la iglesia. Siempre presentes en nuestras ceremonias, incluso algunas invitadas se las llevan cuando acaba la fiesta. ¡Es una pena que tenga una vida tan corta!

Y por ultimo os dejamos unas fotos de algunas bodas que hemos realizado. Como veis las flores están por todas partes, en mesas, sillas, puertas, ventanas… incluso suspendidas en el aire o colgadas en paredes.

FLOWERS AT WEDDINGS

Flowers are one of the most important pillars in a wedding. They form part of the decoration and can totally change a setting from the bride’s bouquet and those of the brides maids as well as in the photocall and in the church. Flowers are always present in our ceremonias and some guests even take them away when the party is over. It is a shame they have such a short life
