Prepare everything to organize your wedding, it’s fine, but making your marriage last a long time is even better! That is why we want to talk to you about what is really the rage amoungst the most solid couples and what, in a certain way, makes them irresistible in the eyes of everyone. Yes, yes, those that despite having different personalities seem to always be on the same wavelength. And all this apparently, is due to mirroring.

¿Qué es el mirroring? / What is mirroring?

Researchers at the University of Michigan (USA) have shed more light on the issue of parental relationships with interesting results, and that, apparently, everything is due to the amazing effect of mirroring within the communication of the couple. And that literally means «mirror effect» or «imitation». Other theories also call it «chameleon effect» since one of the two tends to imitate the body language of the other.

That’s why sometimes many people, unconsciously, «connect» faster with the people around them or directly with their partner.

Example: Your other half comes from a work trip and excited tells you with a cheerful tone and accompanied by great gestures how well it has gone despite problems with his boss.

Normally what we usually do is to listen carefully in silence and with our arms crossed. TRAP.

Couples who (consciously or not) implement mirroring will respond with an equally enthusiastic and optimistic tone. They will show the same level of vibrations as the other.

¿Para qué sirve? / What is it for?

Science is very wise. Adopting the same voice, the same posture, emulating their gestures, allows us to enter faster in connection with our partner. This is the famous trick that makes these couples always seem well-connected, see what we mean? Apparently if we adopt the same body language as the other, that will strengthen the ties that bind us even more! Why the hell have we not realized this before?

¿Y cómo aprendemos? / And how do we learn?

Don’t worry, everything can be learnt in life. Although there comes the most complicated, especially if we have no practice or we don’t do it naturally or spontaneously. It is about observing and subtly imitating their gestures and tones in order to vibrate at the same frequency. It is not about doing exactly what the other does or he will take us for crazy, we have said subtly! It is about «pacing» the other … If he comes happy and we are more down, we will try to overcome the morality showing real interest and if he comes tired or with low biorhythms, we will lower ours (we will tell him our so exciting things tomorrow), so there is no a clash of frequencies;on the other hand, something very common in many couples that make the reunion at home after a day’s work ends up being an argument without knowing or why … what does this situation sound like?

In the world panorama of happy couples look at the marriage of the Obama! Michelle and Barak always seem to be super synchronized: if one smiles, the other also, if one is attentive or serious, the other equal, looks are always accomplices, and above all things, they look together in the same direction. Although we can see other celeb couples that make us wonder, can we be just as happy?

We can think of many other known couples who seem to know very well how to apply this technique, such as Blake Lively and Bryan Reynols or (yes, we are going to write it in this post) Meghan and Prince Harry!

Moral: There is no perfection or perfect synchrony, no matter how many investigations are done! But we can accept the miracles of the mirroring effect to see how they go; ready to try?

P.S. This technique is not only for married couples, I can work in any partnership
