Historia: La boda. Ritual Hindú.
Basado en una serie de prácticas sociales-religiosas y creencias que se remontan hasta el año 2000 a.c., el rito de la boda es una unión que representa la «samskara»(confianza sagrada). Siempre están presentes dos de los pilares fundamentales del hinduísmo: la reencarnación y el universalismo.
Toda la ceremonia gira en torno al «Brahman», la gran autoridad religiosa (esta religión tradicional de la india, cree en el absoluto poder del dios Brahman); esta ceremonia está llena de símbolos y prácticas que tienen por propósito enseñar a la pareja lecciones para su futura vida en común. Los tres rituales básicos de esta ceremonia son: el ritual «homa» de ofrenda al fuego; el «panigrahena», que indica el vínculo de unión de los novios; el ritual «satapadi», que consiste en la consecución de siete vueltas que deben dar los novios alrededor del fuego sagrado. Al completar estas siete vueltas, se acostumbra al canto de mantras y leer algunos textos sagrados, para invocar las bendiciones a la unión de la pareja.
La gran riqueza ceremonial de este ritual de boda, se ve complementado por una riqueza y colorido del vestuario de los novios. La novia suele vestir de rojo, con múltiples adornos y bordados en hilo de oro y profusamente vestida de joyas y abalorios. El novio viste, al igual un vestuario de fiesta, en algodón con bordados.
History of the Hindy Ritual Wedding
Base don a series of religious and social practices and beliefs that go back to 2000 bc, the wedding ritual is a unión that represents the ‘samskara ‘ (sacred confidence). Two fundamental pillars of hinduism are always present: reincarnation and universalism.
All of the ceremony turns in relation to the Brahmin, the grand religious authority (this traditional religión of India believes in the absolute power of the Brahrmin). This ceremony is full of symbols and practices that are meant to teach the pair lessons for their future life together. The three basic rituals of the ceremony are: the ritual “homo” with offerings to the fire, the “panigrahena” that indicates the unión of the couple; the ritual “satapodi” that consists of seven turns the couple must take around the the sacred fire. When they finish the seven turns, it is customary to recite mantras and to read the sacred texts, to invoke the benedictions and the unión of the couple.
The great ceremonial richness of this wedding ritual is complemented by the richness and colours of the clothing of the bride and groom. The bride dresses in red, with multiple decorations and Golden embroiderym and heavly adorned with jewels and beads. The groom also wears special cloths in cotton with embroidery.
Al encontrarse los novios, se intercambian una corona de flores, se leen unos pasajes sagrados, y generalmente, se intercambian una serie de amuletos. El novio, como muestra de aceptación de la novia, ata un collar de flores, alrededor del cuello de la novia, como símbolo de fidelidad y de felicidad. El novio, para indicar el nuevo estado de la novia, rocía su pelo con un polvo de color rojo, lo que indica que esa mujer ya está casada. Una vez casados, los novios, reciben la «lluvia» de arroz como símbolo de prosperidad.
Según dicta la tradición este ritual del matrimonio tiene tres objetivos fundamentales:
1. «Dharma», Contar con la presencia de otra persona para el cumplimiento de sus deberes religiosos.
2. «Praja», cuya finalidad es tener descendencia.
3. «Krama», tener una pareja para obtener el placer sexual.

When the couple are together, they interchange crowns of flowers , they read sacred texts and generally interchange a series of amulets.
The groom, as a demonstration of his acceptance of the bride , attaches a collar of flowers around her neck as a symbol of fidelity and happiness. To indicate the new status of the bride, the groom rubs her hair with red powder which indicates that this woman is now married. Once married, the couple are rained on by rice by their gusts. This symbolises prosperity.
According to the traditions, this ritual of marriage has three fundamental objectives:
- “Dharma” To count on the presence of someone to compliment their religious obligations.
- “Praja” the aim is to have transcendence.
- “Krama” to have a partner to share sexual pleasure.
